You may know I recently returned from the Academy of Certified Portfolio Managers annual conference in Denver. The Academy of Certified Portfolio Managers (ACPM) is an independent organization that creates and manages a credentialed program of excellence for training discretionary portfolio managers. The collaborative and continuous learning experience enables portfolio managers to achieve a higher level of expertise in multiple facets in an ever-changing and dynamic global economy. The ACPM is moving its curriculum to the University of Denver from NYU. Prior to that, it was established at Columbia University, which is where I was awarded my designation in 2016. I am proud to be an officer and board member of the ACPM and I’m excited about the new location and curriculum. I wanted to share some key points from our annual conference:

*Government and Healthcare are the leading generators of job growth.

*Europe is becoming more growth oriented.

*Japan is spending on Defense, and they are entering into a new secular bull market.

*The U.S. is in a secular bull market until 2029-2030. Comparisons were made between the Roaring 20’s and the 2020’s.

*Interest rates on the 10-year treasury will fall next year before setting new highs over the several   years.

*Bitcoin will become a store of value.

*Blockchain is next generation technology. Ethereum is the Microsoft of technology.

*Monday, August 5, 2024, marked the start of the 3 month clock prior to the presidential election. There are historical implications regarding the election outcomes.

2024 has been a year of change for Eagle Capital. In addition to losing Dad, one of our associates, Sherry Duncan, has chosen to move back to the Woodville area so she can be closer to her family.
